Displacement reactions of chloroantimony(III) bis(dialkyl dithiocarbam
ates) with sodium dialkyl dithiophosphates in stoichiometric ratios in
anhydrous benzene yielded mixed bis(dialkyl dithiocarbamate) dialkyl
dithiophosphates of antimony(III) of the type (XCS2)(2)SbS2P(OR)(2) (w
here, X = N(CH3)(2), N(C2H5)(2), N(CH2)(4); R = n-Pr, i-Pr, n-Bu and i
-Bu). These derivatives are yellow crystalline solids which are solubl
e in common organic solvents like benzene, chloroform, carbon tetrachl
oride etc. Spectroscopic studies (IR, H-1 and P-31 NMR) indicate the b
identate behaviour of both the dithiocarbamate and dithiophosphate moi
eties of these complexes.
