Abstract
The purposes of this study were to determine the opinion of private an d academic pediatricians about changes in pediatric residency requirem ents proposed by the Residency Review Committee (RRC) in October 1994 and to compare the results with the requirements finalized in February 1996 and implemented in February 1997. Surveys were mailed to all Fel lows of the American Academy of Pediatrics in South Carolina. Those su rveyed were asked to agree or disagree with 57 proposed changes. The l evel of agreement among all groups of pediatricians was very high, how ever there were significant differences between groups of pediatrician s. Many controversial items were modified or deleted in the final vers ion.
