Abstract
Formation of non-covalent complexes of alpha-chymotrypsin with polyeth ylene oxide or a block co-polymer of polyethylene and polypropylene ox ides enhanced enzyme activity in low water media. No effect of complex ation with polymer on enzyme activity was observed in water/organic mi xtures with less than 50% of organic co-solvent, Complexation of enzym e with polyethylene oxide provided up to 25 times higher activation in low water media, compared to polyethylene - polypropylene co-polymer of similar molecular weight.
