Abstract
The objective of this research was to evaluate the performance of an a gricultural tractor 2 WD, on Alluvial soil. The experimental design ad opted was a factorial (3x2x2), with three levels of soil moisture (36. 3, 41.7 and 49.1%), two vegetation covering amounts and two working de pths, with three replications. Soil moisture of 36.3% presented the hi ghest risk of compaction. The tractive efficiency showed significant d ifference among moisture levels only for 33.1 cm depth, in the presenc e of 3,690 kg/ha of vegetation covering. Work depth influenced all par ameters studied in the evaluation of tractor performance.
