Abstract
This report investigates the generation of additional traffic the incr eased vehicle exhaust emissions and the changes to the air pollution s ituation by a large shopping centre and a commercial estate in the sub urban area of Leipzig. Methods applied are vehicle counts, customer su rveys, BTEX measurements and modelling. Environmental load is describe d as additional emissions in respect of vehicle-specific atmospheric p ollutants in the commercial estate's catchment area and their concentr ations in ambient air.
