Abstract
A clinico-pathological observation of one case of nonabsorbable suture s in the superior right eyelid was reported in a 79-year-old patient. The main clinical finding was a painful reddish eyelid. Surgical excis ion was performed. Histopathological analysis found a non-granulomatou s chronic inflammatory reaction surrounding suture fragments. Uncommon in eyelids, such an inflammatory reaction against sutures attests the likely intolerance to the suture material.
