A method is described which allows to estimate of texture for near-sur
face layers, especially useful in analysis of texture inhomogeneity. T
he method is based on so called mono-layer pole figures, which are mea
sured with keeping of the information depth by means of omega- and chi
-tilting of the sample. Mathematical relation between the goniometer a
ngles {omega, chi, phi} and pole figure angles {alpha, beta} is given.
The mono-layer pole figures for stacked aluminium sample with changed
rolling direction in uppermost layer, were measured.
