K. Gargul et M. Sukiennik, CHARACTERISTIC OF EQUILIBRIUM STATES IN SYSTEMS WITH INTERMETALLIC COMPOUNDS, Archives of Metallurgy, 43(2), 1998, pp. 193-200
Descriptions of equilibrium states between metal's solutions and inter
metallic compounds being formed are presented in this paper. Propertie
s of equilibrium constant of intermetallic compound formation, and con
centration part K-z of this constant were particularly analyzed. It wa
s assumed in this interpretation, that intermetallic compounds disappe
ared on the solution boundary, and on the limit very diluted two-compo
nent solutions were obtained. Consequently, obtained forms of logarith
m function for intermetallic compound activity coefficient f(3) were e
ssentially different of those, present in the literature. Analysis of
function of activity coefficients for solution's components, made in t
his paper, led to the conclusion that some of the parameters (K-z, a(3
), (z) over bar, f(3)) reached extreme values in so called solution's
stoichiometric concentration.
