Abstract
We analyse the large-scale coherence of the CMB anisotropy field with non-gaussian initial conditions using 2-point function of the power fl uctuations in the wavelet space. Employing the multivariate Edgeworth expansion (MEE) we constrain the normalization for the cosmic string m ass-per-unit- length mu, obtaining G mu/c(2) = 1.075(-0.375)(+0.455) x 10(-6) at 68% CL in the standard gaussian statistics. This value is c onsistent with the results obtained from the simulations of the evolut ion of the string network and by other large scale studies. (C) 1998 E lsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
