Abstract
We demonstrate for the first time that the extracellular potassium con centration influences the inhibition of human neuronal delayed rectifi er potassium currents by general anesthetics. This observation suggest s a modulatory role for extracellular potassium ions in the action of some general anesthetic agents. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rig hts reserved.
