Abstract
The impact of improving the rate of right-first-time production on pro ductivity and profitability for a batchwise dyehouse processing cellul osic fibres is reviewed. The measurement and level of performance requ ired from reactive dyes to support right-first-time production is defi ned in the form of a reactive dye compatibility matrix (RCM). The appl ication of the RCM as a diagnostic tool in dye selection and process d esign is outlined.
