FEW REMARKS TO PROBLEMS OF TRANSSEXUALISM

The authors sum up some basic knowledge concerning transsexualism (F 6 4.0 according to ICD -10). They deal with the definition of this disor der, with differential diagnostics, psychosexual development of transs exuals, differences between female-to-male and male-to-female patients and at the end with the treatment of this disorder, stressing the the rapeutic model applied in the Czech Republic above all. According to t heir opinion the surgical change of sex leads to an increase in qualit y of life of transsexual patients in indicated cases.
