ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PSYCHOLOGY BUILDER IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA BAZANY,MIROSLAV,T. HAS LEFT US (JULY 14, 1923 JANUARY 30, 1998)

M. T. Bazany was an important initiator of the revitalization of psych ology in Czechoslovakia in the 1950s. He established the first experim ental psychology center in Slovakia. He created and put into action th e new concept of psychological educational child care. He initiated th e establishment of psychological educational clinics, the Research Ins titute of Child Psychology and Pathopsychology, the Psychodiagnostic C enter, the professional journal titled Child Psychology and Pathopsych ology, the Laboratory of Comparative Psychology and the Special and Tr eatment Pedagogy Institute. After the ocupation in 1968 he emmigrated and from 1970 - 1990 he worked as a UNESCO expert in the area of educa tion in developing countries. After the democratic rebirth in 1990 he returned to Slovakia and as the dean of the School of Pedagogy at the Comenius University in Bratislava he brought this institution up to th e standard of a European University.
