Rhodium(III) porphyrin-silyls [Me3SiRhT(p-X)PP (X = H, Me)] were synth
esized from the reactions of the rhodium(I) porphyrin anions, generate
d from the reduction of the rhodium(III) porphyrin chlorides with the
sodium amalgam in toluene, with degassed Me3SiCl at room temperature.
A single crystal structure of traphenylporphyrinato)(trimethylsilyl)rh
odium(III) (1) showed that the Rh-si bond length is equal to 2.305 Ang
strom. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
