THE VOITH-SULZER FLOATLIP FORMER - A SMART SOLUTION FOR A PROVEN CONCEPT

The forming concept of vat formers has been known for over one hundred years. The sheet forming process of vat machines, especially the pick up of the fibers greatly depends on the furnish parameters. The sheet quality can only be influenced in a small range. The limited adjustab ility results in uneven profiles in the cross direction as well as in the machine direction. Considering ail the disadvantages which make cu stomers dissatisfied with the conventional design, Voith Sulzer has fu rther developed the shortformer into the FloatLip former: Presently th e FloatLip former equipped with the centrifugal distributor and proven ModulaleJet dilution water system for basis weight control produces o ptimum sheet quality and very good 2 Sigma values.
