Abstract
Half-explicit methods constitute an attractive means for solving (nons tiff) constrained mechanical systems. They only need the solution of l inear systems and can thus be implemented straightforwardly. This arti cle gives a short survey of these methods and discusses several modifi cations which allow to increase efficiency in certain situations.
