Abstract
EPDM and BR were blended with low density polyethylene (LDPE) in the r atio 1:1 and vulcanized with gamma radiation, then subjected to radiat ion graft copolymerization with acrytonitrile (AN), The parameters aff ecting graft yield such as inhibitor and monomer concentration, irradi ation dose, and type of solvent were investigated. BR/LDPE is more sus ceptible towards graft copolymerization than an EPDM/ LDPE blend. Besi des, the grafting of AN onto EPDM/LDPE improves its solvent resistance . The thermal properties of the blends obtained were characterized usi ng DSC.
