FACTORS AFFECTING THAILAND NR PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY UP TO THE YEAR 2000

During the past few years up to the present, there are many important factors that strongly influence NR production and supply of Thailand. Labour shortage was a common problem in some of the traditional rubber growing area. The government recently gave a work permit to the guest workers to work in the rubber plantation. Rubber replanting activity in the tradition area is quite slow while the new planting in the nort heast is considered fairly high due to more laborers, more suitable ar ea and the other inputs.
