Im. Kakhnovsky et al., GOPTEN (TRANDOLAPRIL) TREATMENT OF CHRONIC CARDIAC-FAILURE IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC-HEART-DISEASE, Terapevticeskij arhiv, 70(8), 1998, pp. 29-33
Aim. To investigate clinical efficacy of angiotensin-converting enzyme
inhibitor trandolapril and its effects on myocardial function. Materi
als and method. 20 patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) aged 33-
74 years with chronic cardiac failure NYHA class II-IV. 4 of them surv
ived myocardial infarction. In addition to the routine tests, the pati
ents underwent echocardiography, radionuclide ventriculography. Trando
lapril was given once a day for 28 days in a dose 2 mg, then a repeat
examination was performed Results. Trandolapril produced a subjective
effect in 80% of patients; There was also improvement of hemodynamic p
arameters, an increase in the ejection fraction, sensitivity to nitrog
lycerin, decline of asynchronia. The drug was well tolerated. Conclusi
on. Trandolapril (gopten) is effective in IHD patients with chronic ca
rdiac failure.
