A proposito del tempio di Giove Anxur a Terracina

Among the most renowed sanctuaries of ancient Italy is the Temple of Jupiter Anxur, identified in the imposing ruines standing on the top of the hill of S. Angelo, above Terracina. During the last decades this identification was questioned, if not denied. According to a new reading of the ancient sources, was proposed a re-interpretation of the temple as that of Feronia. The identification of temple of Feronia with the one standing under the cliff of Leano is, in fact, uncorrect. Those interpretations are considered in the present paper, which reprpposes theraditional identification according to a more accurate reading of the archaeological and literary sources.
