Jf. Wyart et P. Palmeri, INTERPRETATION OF THE SPECTRUM OF CE-III - NEW ENERGY-LEVELS AND THEORETICAL TRANSITION-PROBABILITIES, Physica scripta. T, 58(4), 1998, pp. 368-376
The analysis of Cem was checked and extended with the support of param
etric studies of the mixed configurations in both parities by means of
the chain of programs by Cowan. Ten new levels and more than 70 new c
lassifications are reported. The 5d6p configuration was completed and
two levels of 6s6p were found. The parametric description of 4f5g is d
ramatically improved by taking into account far configuration mixing e
ffects. The eigenfunctions were used to derive theoretical values of t
he transition probabilities which are listed for 140 selected lines fr
om 2138 to 82 mn. A coincidence between the transition 5d(2 3)F(2)-5d6
p (3)D(1)degrees, of Ce III and the resonance line (lambda 1849.5079 A
ngstrom) of (HgI)-Hg-204 is remarked.
