Abstract
The location and reexamination of the ''lost'' generatype of the cynip id genus Xystoteras Ashmead has made it possible to demonstrate that t his genus is a junior synonym of Phylloteras Ashmead NEW SYNONYMY. Two species, Phylloteras lyratum NEW SPECIES and P. primum NEW SPECIES ar e described, and a key to the species of Phylloteras is included. Euxy stoteras campanulatum NEW GENUS AND NEW SPECIES, is described and comp ared to other closely related genera.
