Abstract
The purpose of this study was to quantitate the effect of two monofila ment synthetic absorbable sutures as well as a new monofilament synthe tic absorbable suture, glycomer 631, in healing musculoaponeurotic inc isions in rats. Because these three monofilament synthetic absorbable sutures provided secure closure of laparotomy incisions, their clinica l use in laparotomy incisions is recommended.
