Abstract
A series of samples belonging to the ceria-zirconia solid solution has been investigated from the point of view of surface impurities, via T PO/TPD and FTIR spectroscopy. Species likely due either to the precurs ors or to atmospheric contamination have been taken into account and t heir stability has been studied following two different thermal treatm ents. A complete cleaning treatment is proposed in order to obtain pow ders of satisfactory quality for catalytic purposes.
