Abstract
This letter reports the results of the analysis of all-optical switchi ng caused by nonlinear refraction due to cascaded second-order nonline arity performed by means of the method of lines (MoL). Comparison with the results obtained by a homemade fast Fourier transform beam propag ation method with one-step procedure, shows that the Mot optimized pro cedure allows the assumption of a larger step Delta z with shorter CPU times.
