V. Karbach et al., MATRIX-ASSISTED FILAMENT DESORPTION IONIZATION MASS-SPECTROMETRY/, Journal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 9(11), 1998, pp. 1226-1228
We describe an improved sample preparation method for pulsed filament
desorption-ionization mass spectrometry. Samples were deposited in the
presence of an excess of liquid or solid matrices. Especially with li
quid matrices such as glycerol, this allowed stable and reproducible i
on production for a variety of compounds, including biomolecules and s
ynthetic polymers. Substances with molecular weights up to 3000 Da cou
ld be desorbed, ionized, and detected by time-of-flight mass spectrome
try. (J Am Sec Mass Spectrom 1998, 9, 1226-1228) (C) 1998 American Soc
