Abstract
The intensities, widths, and shifts of the centres of the emission lin es of a laser plasma generated on the surfaces of solid targets were d etermined experimentally as a function of the ambient gas pressure, Th e Stark broadening and the Stark shift of the emission lines were used to estimate the electron temperature and the electron density at vari ous gas pressures.
