S. Okuno et al., CERVICAL INFARCTION ASSOCIATED WITH VERTEBRAL ARTERY-OCCLUSION DUE TOSPONDYLOTIC DEGENERATION - CASE-REPORT, Acta neurochirurgica, 140(9), 1998, pp. 981-985
Cases of cervical infarction with clearly documented evidence of the u
nderlying aetiology and associated neuroradiological abnormalities hav
e not been frequently reported. A rare case of cervical infarction cau
sed by midvertebral artery occlusion due to spondylotic degeneration o
f the spine is described. The most probable aetiological factor affect
ing this disease entity, and the usefulness of magnetic resonance imag
ing in the detection of this rare lesion, are briefly discussed.
