It is shown that the Frohlich bipolaron is feasible in a two-center mo
lecular-orbital approach. The binding energy comes out stronger than t
he corresponding Heitler-London approach. The critical value eta(c) of
eta = epsilon(infinity)/epsilon, below which the bipolaron is realiza
ble, is found to be 0.14, which is the best value, otherwise obtained,
in the literature.
