Inward rectifier K+ channels control resting membrane potential, cell
excitability, insulin secretion and renal K+ transport. Much progress
has been made in the structure and regulation, as well as the molecula
r identity and physiological role played by the channels. This review
discusses recent advances in inward rectifier K+ channels with a speci
al emphasis on the renal channels, Curr Opin Nephrol Hypertens 7:503-5
