Abstract
A pioneering study alined to quantify general practitioners' (GPs') kn owledge of cases of elder abuse in the community. The research found t hat elder abuse is a problem encountered by GPs, and that a large majo rity of responders would welcome training in the identification and ma nagement of the problem.
