T. Laakso et al., EMBEDDING THE MANAGEMENT OF EVOLUTION INTO STRATEGIC LEARNING, International journal of production economics, 56-7, 1998, pp. 333-345
The paper discusses the problem of strategy process as a part of the m
anagement of the evolution process in industrial organisations. Emphas
is is put on the question of how we can build an adaptive organisation
that is capable to anticipate changes in its operational environment,
and that is capable to adjust its objectives according to the changes
. In the strategy literature a lot of attention is put on the strategy
formation phase, which has lead us to the situation where strategy is
often seen as a pure planning task. The implementation phase and the
creation of feedback mechanism for strategic learning are typically ov
erlooked activities. A set of methods and tools are introduced that ca
n be used to improve management of evolution and strategic learning; b
enchmarking, process assessment, modelling and participative simulatio
n techniques. These methods and tools are developed in the EUREKA TIME
project. (C) 1998 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reser
