G. Platas et al., PRODUCTION OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITIES BY MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY PSEUDONOCARDIACEAE - INFLUENCE OF NUTRIENTS, World journal of microbiology & biotechnology, 14(4), 1998, pp. 521-527
The production of antibacterial substances under different nutritive c
onditions has been studied in members of the Pseudonocardiaceae family
. The results show that media with low nitrogen content stimulate the
production of antibacterial substances in the genera Amycolatopsis, Sa
ccharomonospora and Saccharopolyspora, while strains from the genus Ps
eudonocardia produce these metabolites in media with moderate or high
nitrogen content.
