R. Sakamoto et al., PREPARATION OF TITANIA THICK-FILMS BY ELECTROPHORETIC SOL-GEL DEPOSITION USING HYDROTHERMALLY TREATED PARTICLES, Nippon Seramikkusu Kyokai gakujutsu ronbunshi, 106(10), 1998, pp. 1034-1036
Thick titania films were prepared by the modified electrophoretic sol-
gel deposition method. The titania par tides prepared by the sol-gel m
ethod were hydrothermally treated at 250 degrees C under 5 MPa and the
n calcined at 600 degrees C in air. The particles crystallized by the
hydrothermal treatment showed no aggregation during the calcination an
d were easily re-dispersed in a mixture of ethanol and water to form s
table titania sol, Thick titania films of ca. 20 mu m in thickness wer
e obtained on stainless steel sheets by electrophoretic deposition of
the sol.
