T. Cosgrove et al., A STUDY OF CHEMISORPTION OF POLY(HYDROGEN METHYLSILOXANE) USING NEUTRON REFLECTOMETRY AND SMALL-ANGLE NEUTRON-SCATTERING, Langmuir, 9(9), 1993, pp. 2326-2329
Neutron reflectivity and small-angle neutron scattering have been used
to study the chemisorption of poly(hydrogen methylsiloxane), on quart
z and porous silica. The results indicate an increase in layer thickne
ss and density near the solid interface upon increasing the grafting r
eaction temperature. The results are compared qualitatively with adsor
ption data obtained from FTIR experiments on alumina and with theoreti
cal predictions.
