Abstract
It is shown that the nuclear effects playing a relevant role in deep i nelastic scattering of polarized electrons by polarized He-3 are mainl y those arising from the effective proton and neutron polarizations ge nerated by the S' and D waves in He-3. A simple and reliable equation relating the neutron, g1n, and He-3, g1(3), spin structure functions i s proposed. It is shown that the measurement of the first moment of th e He-3 structure function can provide a significant check of the Bjork en sum rule.
