Abstract
The energy dependence of the fusion spin distribution has been studied in terms of its scaled moments. It is shown that the effect of channe l coupling of spin distribution, particularly the effect of coupling o f the shape degree of freedom to the translational motion, is much str onger at and above Coulomb barrier energies, even though the effect on fusion cross section is largest at sub-barrier energies.
