Research into colloidal particles for drug delivery has, in the past f ew years, begun to focus on the delivery of biopolymers such as peptid es, proteins and plasmids, Progress is being made in the sustained del ivery of biopolymers and in the development of particulate delivery sy stems for alternative routes of administration, such as the lungs or n asal cavity.
