The lifetime of the 2750 keV level in K-37 was measured using the Dopp
ler shift attenuation method. The result, together with the previously
determined ratio of the partial width ratio Gamma(gamma)/Gamma(p), al
lows verification of an absolute measurement of the corresponding reso
nance strength in the Ar-36(p,gamma) reaction channel. This confirms t
he strong reaction rate for Ar-36(p, gamma)K-37, which will cause rapi
d depletion of Ar-36 at explosive hydrogen burning conditions. [S0556-
