Abstract
Recent studies on antibacterials have focused on the development of an timycobacterial agents and antibacterial peptides, and on furthering t he understanding of agents that have been available for several decade s, including imidazoles, beta-lactams and quinolones. New areas of res earch include antisense oligonucleotides, antibacterial peptides and a new class of agents, oxazolidinones.
