J. Jerosch et M. Marquardt, ULTRASOUND EVALUATION IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF SHOULDER INSTABILITY - DIAGNOSTIC-VALUE AND LIMITS, Der Orthopade, 22(5), 1993, pp. 294-300
Ultrasound evaluation expands the possibilities of diagnostic imaging
techniques for patients with shoulder instabilities. Static ultrasound
investigation documents the acute or chronic dislocated shoulder. Dyn
amic evaluation demonstrates the direction of instability. Concomitant
Hill-Sachs lesions or rotator cuff tears can be diagnosed with high d
iagnostic accuracy. Clinically relevant documentation of labrum defect
s (Bankart lesions) by ultrasound is not possible with the technique c
urrently available.
