Abstract
A time spectrum of surface muons from the decay pi(+) --> mu(+)nu (P-m u+ = 30 MeV/c) was measured using a secondary beam channel as a spectr ometer, yielding the pion lifetime tau(pi), = 26.0231 +/- 0.0050 (stat ) +/- 0.0084 (syst) ns.
