Abstract
The compound H2CH2P(C6H11)2})2-{mu-(C6H11)2PCH2CH2P(C6H11)2}]2+ [Au(CN )2]2(2-) luminesces strongly (lambda(max) = 508 nm) in acetonitrile at room temperature. Both gold(I) atoms are in trigonal planar environme nts, bound to one chelating bis(dicyclohexylphosphino)ethane (dcpe), a nd linked to one another by one bridging dcpe. The bridging unit is st retched with an Au...Au distance of 7.0501 angstrom; clearly no Au-Au interaction is present.
