Abstract
The calibration of vibration pick-ups by the sine-approximation method has been examined. This method which uses a modified Michelson-type l aser interferometer has been proposed as an ISO draft standard. The ev aluation procedure, the experimental set-up and calculation of the unc ertainty in the phase lag are reported. A piezoelectric-type vibration pick-up has been evaluated experimentally. Expanded uncertainties of less than +/-5 x 10(-3) rad in phase-lag evaluation have been obtained in the experiment.
