H. Qi et al., SYNERGISTIC EFFECTS OF FOCUS ULTRASOUND WITH DIFFERENT FREQUENCY AND HEMATOPORPHYRIN ON HUMAN TUMOR-CELLS, SCIENCE IN CHINA SERIES C-LIFE SCIENCES, 41(5), 1998, pp. 520-524
Human hematopoietic cell K-562. human melenoma cell LiBr and human sto
mach cancer cells were exposed to ultrasound (US, 1.75 W/cm(2), 1.4, 2
.16 and 2.4 MHz) in vitro in the presence or absence of hematoporphyri
n (Hp, 100 mu g/mL). The cell damaging effects of treatments were dete
rmined by means of the Trypan Blue dye exclusion test, MTT test and FD
A test. The experimental results showed that the same cell line had di
fferent sensibilities to the US of different frequencies, and differen
t cell line had different damage at the same acoustical radiation. The
combined treatment with US and Hp enhanced greatly the cell damage, a
nd ilo sensibility oi insonation cells to US with Hp was observed. The
cell damage rests showed that the results of MTT test corresponded we
ll with that of Trypan Blue dye test.
