Abstract
The X-ray crystal structure was determined for o[6.3.1.0(3,10).0(4.12) .0(5,9)]-dodecane-2,11-diol (1). The molecule consists of a twisted pe ntacyclic hydrocarbon ring system with a methyl substituent and two hy droxyl functional groups. Despite the two hydroxyl groups, there is no evidence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding.
