Appunti per una rilettura dell'urbanistica di Atri romana

Twenty years after the publication of my book on the Latin colony of Hadria (now known as Atri), the first volume of the "Città antiche in Italia" Series, issues concerning the topography and town planning in the Classical and Medieval periods should be reconsidered. Revision of these problems (stimulated by new archaeological findings, documents and critical re-examination) concern essentially the city limits, identified by the comparison between a 16th century map and an aerial photo made in 1954. The study also deals with other aspects of the history of Hadria, including a new hypothesis concerning the position of the Forum.
