Abstract
The behavior of Cu during the crystallization processes in Fe-Zr-B amo rphous alloy was studied by atom probe field ion microscopy and transm ission electron microscopy. It was found thar Cu atoms formed clusters prior to the crystallization reaction. During the crystallization, Cu enriched clusters provided nucleation sites for alpha-Fe phase so tha t the nucleation density of alpha-Fe phase is increased.
