Abstract
General analytical expressions for the transport collision integrals O mega((l,s))(T) for binary collisions of atoms that can interact throug h many different (repulsive-attractive as well as repulsive) potential s are derived. The integrals allow one to calculate the transport coef ficients (viscosity, thermal conductivity, and ordinary and thermal di ffusion coefficients) in gases dominated by collision systems driven b y poorly understood multiple-force interactions. The approach is used to calculate the transport integrals for several collision systems, an d the results are compared with the detailed ab initio calculations av ailable for some well understood open-shell systems.
