GLUON PLASMA WITH A MEDIUM-DEPENDENT DISPERSION-RELATION

The statistical mechanics for systems with a medium-dependent dispersi on relation are formulated and applied to construct a model for the gl uon plasma equation of state with a temperature-dependent particle mas s, This simple model gives us an example of a system with temperature- dependent effective Hamiltonian, We find that to satisfy the thermodyn amical relations in these systems, standard statistical mechanics form ulas have to be supplemented by special requirements. The self-consist ent statistical model formulation is used to describe Monte Carlo latt ice data for the thermodynamical functions of SU(2) and SU(3) gluon pl asma.
